The Great Flood of 1993. This small farming town of 500 people is 11 miles from the Mississippi River and within 24 hours of the levee break was under 40 ft. of water following the weeks of heavy rains. Hull, Illinois. This is the story of a farming community which was wiped off the map in the historic flood, but was resilient and recovered. Photographs made between 1993 and 1994, on assignment for The Chicago Tribune.
